Vision

The department is a scientific, research, and educational institution within a governmental institution that provides distinguished educational and research programs and preparing students to familiarize themselves with different languages and their literature, while studying the literary and linguistic relationships between these languages and the Arabic Language with the aim of highlighting cultural life within the framework of preserving the values and achievements of human heritage.

Mission

The department's mission includes the following points
Achieving excellence and continuous effective leadership at the educational and research level, as well as cultural excellence in the fields related to the field of Oriental Studies locally and regionally within the framework of effective participation in the implementation of sustainable development plans and programs in the country, as an integral part of the comprehensive development of human heritage, within the framework of preserving special constants of national security.
Introducing the civilizations of the Semitic and Islamic nations in all cultural, linguistic, civilizational and literary fields by the latest methods of education and scientific research.
Preparing students scientifically, while raising their level to suit the needs of the labor market, making them qualified to apply this knowledge and experience in the fields of research and all fields of work that require the use of these languages, while consolidating the values of citizenship, developing critical thinking skills, self-learning, and working in a team spirit.
Raising the educational level of students to achieve the best scientific skills such as (intellectual, cognitive, analytical and synthetic skills) Contributing to building and shaping the personality of students by providing them with critical thinking and scientific research skills.
Developing means of using technological information in the field of language and translation, and using modern references in All linguistic, literary and cultural fields within an integrated and open educational system, providing scientific production based on the knowledge, innovation, creativity and contribution to community service.
Working to keep pace with the development of global scientific civilization to prepare specialized generations in order to understand the identity of the peoples speaking these languages.

The department aims to achieve some objectives, the most important of which are:
Learning about the different cultures of the peoples of the Semitic and Islamic languages, to find out the latest means by which enables us to understand and study them and studying their history while linking the past to the present to understand contemporary political events.
Contributing to the field of community service by strengthening the bonds of friendship between Egypt and those peoples.
Graduating a student who can conquer the labor markets in various fields such as translation, tourism, media, antiquities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and various security and political bodies.
Preparing translators in various languages to meet the different needs of the country, and working on graduating students who are good at Interpretation those East Semitic languages.
Contributing to the preparation of theses and specialized scientific research.
Creating a new generation capable of understanding what is going on around them and contributing to building bridges of communication with some of the governments of those peoples.
Providing new job opportunities for young graduates in the diplomatic body and in the field of Interpretation, various media outlets, including radio, television, and satellite stations, foreign investment companies, the field of teaching and outside Egypt.
Enhancing the linguistic and literary connection between these languages and the Arabic language through the methods of linguistics and comparative literature
