Historic Overview

Faculty of Arts is one of Tanta University faculties. It was founded by resolution number 809 of 1975 to be a source of knowledge in the field of humanities. The Faculty received its first group of students in the academic year 1975/1976. Then the Faculty began to develop and expand remarkably year after year. This expansion manifested itself in establishing new departments and increase of enrolled students at them. Moreover, the new building of the Faculty was inaugurated and became ready for education in the academic year 2004/2005.

It is to be become acknowledged as one of the highly ranked faculties of art in Egypt and the Arab world, to be capable of competing locally and regionally, and to participate, with other faculties of art at Egyptian universities in improvement of personal experience and making connections with the world, the international causes and human goals.

The Faculty is committed to graduating specialists with high standard of knowledge in the fields of humanities, sociology and languages, as well as promoting innovation, acquiring scientific research and social skills in order to accomplish aims of society and address its issues.

Cooperation agreements and joint ventures A cooperation agreement was concluded between Tanta University and Sun Yanset University (Zhong Shan) in China to enroll students in training programs for one year with the Center for Arabic Language for Speakers of Other Languages.
Concluding a scientific and cultural cooperation agreement between Tanta University and Gwangju University of Foreign Studies.
Contributing to concluding a scientific and cultural cooperation agreement between Tanta University and Jinhua University in China.
Signing a cooperation protocol with the Dean of the Faculty of Languages at Peking University, as the largest and oldest university in China, to enroll Chinese students in the Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers section.
An agreement was concluded between the College of Arts and the United Arab Authority in the field of arbitration and human development.
Signing a cooperation protocol between the Faculty of Arts and the Information Technology Center at the Tanta Judges Club.
An agreement was concluded between the College of Arts and Profit Stop Loss to provide courses in the field of international stock exchanges to university students, male and female graduates, through the college’s Public Service Center.
An agreement was concluded between the University of Tanta and the Ministry of Higher Education - the Higher Education Development Projects Management Unit - to support and develop the educational effectiveness of the Faculty of Arts. The value of the support amounts to 2 million pounds.
The agreement includes the college fully implementing the rules and standards of quality, and taking all necessary measures to advance the college.
And developing it through the introduction of modern technology applications to achieve the most important outcomes of providing an advanced educational environment that allows the provision of educational programs that produce graduates with distinguished specifications that keep pace with the requirements of the labor market.
The agreement is valid for one year, starting from the first of this December, with the university’s Quality Assurance Center undertaking follow-up and technical support for projects, in addition to project management at the Ministry.
