brief history

The establishment of the Department of Libraries, Documents and Information dates back to the year 1986 AD, where studies began in the academic year 1986-1987 AD, and the first class graduated in the academic year 1989/1990. The department is considered one of the first library departments in the Republic.
It comes as the third department at the level of Egyptian universities in terms of history of establishment, after the library departments at Cairo University and Alexandria University.
