The Faculty of Arts at Tanta University organized the Scientific Day activities for the Surveying, Maps, and Geographic Information Systems Program (Credit Hour System) on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein Mahmoud, President of Tanta University; Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Ahmed El-Araby, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.

The event was attended by Prof. Abdel Razek El-Koumi, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Hala Nada, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Diaa Sabry, Academic Coordinator of the Program; and Mr. Mohamed Gamal, Secretary-General of the Faculty, along with a distinguished group of faculty members from the Department of Geography and the supporting academic staff.

The activities began with the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a presentation delivered by Prof. Diaa Sabry, who reviewed the details of the applied surveying project conducted to map part of the Ras Mohammed area in South Sinai Governorate. The event also included discussions of more than 30 outstanding student projects covering the Lower Egypt region. 

The presented projects highlighted the Program's ability to integrate scientific accuracy with technological advancement, while preparing qualified professionals capable of analyzing spatial data and understanding geographical changes in line with digital transformation and labor market requirements in the fields of remote sensing and urban planning.
